Devotional Thought on Beauty

Where do we begin?

We all have imperfections. We live in an imperfect World. Our created purpose is to let God's light shine through every view of our being, expressing his colors and beauty through us in ways no one else can. The beauty of a diamond is seen when someone holds it up in the sunlight and everyone can see it sparkle and not look deeply at every flaw.

We are created to shine with the light of God's creative genius. Psalm 139:14 ; I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (kjv). When we appreciate ourselves in all our uniqueness, we will hold our life up to the light and live out the beauty we were created to express...cleaned and polished with the Love and Forgiveness of God.

Inner Beauty Method -

Cleanser -  In order to make ourselves beautiful, we have to first cleanse ourselves of all unwanted impurities. Our cleansing agent works through our confession and God's forgiveness.

1 John 1:9, II Corinthians 7:1, Psalm 19:12

Moisturizer-  Having compassion can be a good moisturizer. When we start to see in others their needs instead of our own it can really soften us up!

Jude 21-22, II Corinthians 12:25, I Peter 3:8

Wrinkle Cream - If we want to smooth out the wrinkles how about applying a meek and quiet spirit!

I Peter 3:4

Foundation - We need to start with a good foundation and what is better than the Word of God!  If we have the Word of God in our hearts the rest of our spiritual make-up can be easily applied.

Psalm 119:11, Psalm 37:31, Luke 2:19

Eye Makeup - To keep our eyes shining bright we need to guard them from seeing things that are not fitting for a beautiful woman in Christ.

I Corinthians 6:19, Psalm 119:18

Hand Lotion - We don't want our hands to become dry and brittle so we need to apply some generosity and good deeds.

Proverbs 31:31, Psalm 90:17, Ecclesiastes 9:10

Foot Therapy - Sometimes when we overlook our feet they can get callused and rough, so we need to get them going in the right direction. Take your feet only to the places that Christ would approve.

Psalm 40:2, Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 4:26, Luke 1:79

Although outward beauty may be seen all painted on with a bush so fair - its shallowness can be revealed in our actions unaware, But inner beauty is much more rare and it comes from God above- It is shown in how we act and how we show love. Like an oyster in the ocean its outer shell so plain and dull but...when you look in side of it there's a pearl so beautiful!

I hope to be like the oyster when you look inside you'll see a heart so warm and beautiful and see God's love inside of me.

Remember - Being beautiful is a daily Upkeep!
