The Work of Christmas Has Just Begun
the words say it well. The seson that past, the reason remains. The real work of the message of Christmas begins. When finished, will the season have drained our creativity and strength, or will it leave us the real meaning of the manger?
Jesus came to save the lost. Soul winning must ever be the main objective of the church. Many times a question is asked, "How many have won a soul this year?", only to see one or two hands go up. We get so bogged down in the work of it we forget the reason for it.
Jesus came to heal the broken. People are hurting so, waiting for just a word.
Words of sincerity and humility, that heal. When we start healing, the work of Christmas begins. Put it on your list of things to do this year. Mend relationships, visit widow, or a forgotten one in a nursing home. Go forth and heal the broken.
To rebuild nations: It must be our concern, because it is Christ's . He said, "When my people... Will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way, Then will I hear...and heal their land." Our nation needs a re-birth of purpose. It can only begin nationally as it begins individually in our hearts. Pray for the nation and leaders. Reach out as never before. Only then will the work of Christmas begin.
"When the song of the angles is silent,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes lie asleep,
When the shepherds again tend their sheep,
When the manger is darkended and still....
Then the work of Christmas begins
To find the lost, to heal the broken hearted,
To feed the hungry, to build the nations,
To bring peace to people, to befriend the lonely,
To release the bound, to make music in the heart!
